Not fortune-telling. A 4,000-year-old method for the second half of your life.
Two systems that work as one. BaZi reads you inward — your structure, your cycles, the patterns you keep repeating. The I Ching reads your situation outward — 64 situations, 384 ways to respond. One method, for every crossing the second half puts in front of you: when to push, when to wait, and when to walk away.
The question behind the question
Most people over 45 do not come to BaZi and the I Ching looking for a prediction. They come because something stopped working, and nothing they own can tell them why.
Why did a career that fit for twenty years stop fitting? Why does the same argument come back wearing a different face? Why did last year feel like sailing and this one feel like swimming? Why can you give everyone else good advice and never take your own?
None of those are questions about the future. They are questions about structure and timing — and structure and timing are the exact territory these two systems were built for.
Inward with BaZi. Outward with the I Ching.
Most systems fail for the same reason. They either describe you and never tell you what to do, or they tell you what to do without knowing who is listening.
A horoscope column writes one reading for one-twelfth of the population. A self-help book hands everyone the same seven steps. A therapist explores you for years and rarely gives you a method you can carry out the door. An advisor models your money and never asks what season of life you are in. Each of them holds one half.
BaZi and the I Ching were designed as a pair, and they divide the problem cleanly:
Inward
BaZi — who you are
Your structure and your season. What you are built to carry and what you are not. The ten-year cycles that run through your whole life — which decade rewards expansion, which rewards consolidation, and which one punishes forcing the issue. Calculated from your exact birth date, hour, and birthplace.
Outward
The I Ching — what to do about it
Your situation, and how to meet it. 64 situations and 384 responses, with the accumulated record of how people have handled each one — and what happened when they fought it. A method, not a verdict, and it applies to whatever is actually in front of you.
BaZi without the I Ching tells you who you are and leaves you there. The I Ching without BaZi gives advice to no one in particular. Together they close the loop: you see yourself accurately, and you know what to do next.
That is the whole method, and it is the same method whether the question is your work, your marriage, your family, your money, your health, or a decision you have not been able to say out loud yet.
What people bring to it
A decision you have put off for two years and still cannot settle.
Work — more of it, less of it, or something entirely your own. Including the question of when to stop.
Money — when to commit, when to hold, and when to walk away from something that has already cost you enough.
A marriage or a family relationship that has run the same loop for a decade.
Grown children and aging parents, arriving in the same few years.
Your own energy — why some years you can push and some years you cannot, no matter how hard you try.
A door that closed, and what it actually opened.
The question you have not said out loud yet.
Why no single expert can answer this
Every professional you could hire is an expert in one part of you. Financial planning tells you what you can afford — never when to move. Your doctor tells you what your body can take, but not which years it can take it in. A career coach can tell you what is available, never whether it is yours to take. And nobody tells you that a difficult season is a season rather than a verdict.
Each of them is right about their part. You are the only one holding the whole — which is exactly why the decision keeps landing on you, at eleven at night, with no framework to hold it in.
BaZi maps a life in ten-year cycles. That is the layer everyone else is missing: the terrain you are standing on. The same decision, taken in a different decade, produces a different life. No spreadsheet can show you that, because no spreadsheet knows what season it is for you.
What this is — and what it isn't
What it isn't
- It is not a prediction of your future.
- It is not medical, psychological, financial, investment, or legal advice.
- It is not a religion — it works alongside whatever faith you already hold.
- It is not sun-sign astrology or a newspaper horoscope.
- It is not a promise of wealth or of any particular outcome, and no one here will tell you what to do.
What it is
- A method for reading yourself and your situation.
- A way to see your own structure clearly enough to stop repeating a decision.
- A structured video course in plain English — no background required.
- A reference you will return to for years: 64 situations, 384 practical responses.
- A tool that leaves the decision — and the credit — with you.
Why this is not your horoscope
Your BaZi chart is calculated from your exact birth date, birth hour, and birthplace. Two people born on the same afternoon in different cities do not carry the same chart.
A horoscope column is written for one-twelfth of the population. A BaZi chart is built for one person, in ten-year chapters, from birth to death. That is the difference between being told your personality and being shown your sequence.
You are not a sign. You are a configuration, and it has never been repeated.

Where this edition comes from
Most English editions of the I Ching are reprints of the same two or three Victorian translations. It is why so many readers give up around the third hexagram — the language is beautiful, and the meaning stays out of reach.
This one is annotated from a different source: the Mawangdui manuscript — the oldest known version of the text, buried around 168 BC and excavated in Changsha in 1973. Its sequence and wording differ from the version most translations use, and in several places the difference changes the meaning of a hexagram entirely.
What you receive is our working annotation of that manuscript: the original text, a clear English rendering, and notes on what each hexagram is describing and when to use it. The two video courses exist for one reason — to teach you to apply it to your own situation.
Who prepared it
This edition is compiled and taught by the SFschool study team — a small group that works with the Mawangdui text and with BaZi charting.
We are not asking you to trust a personality. Every claim in the course is tied to a passage you can go and read, and the source text is included. Check our work.
What students say
★★★★★
"I have read self-help for twenty years and almost none of it described me accurately. This was the first thing that did — clearly enough that I stopped arguing with it. I'm not calmer because I decided to be. I'm calmer because I finally know what I'm actually working with."
Robert H. — 54, Denver, Colorado
★★★★★
"Two advisors gave me two different answers about when to stop working, and both used the same numbers. What settled it wasn't a spreadsheet. It was understanding the cycle I was in and how much uncertainty I genuinely have an appetite for. I made the call myself, and I have never second-guessed it."
Michael R. — 63, Ohio
★★★★★
"I retired at 58 with thirty years ahead of me and no plan for any of them. What I got here was a picture of what I am actually built to do — not what I was told to do for three decades. I stopped waiting for permission and started consulting on my own terms. I wish I had found this at 50."
Sarah L. — 60, Ontario
★★★★★
"I was chasing a partnership I had wanted for ten years, and something kept telling me the timing was wrong. The chart said the same thing in a much older language. I turned it down. Eighteen months later the firm was restructured and the man who took my place was gone. That was the most expensive course I never paid for."
David K. — 57, Texas
★★★★★
"My husband and I argued about the same three things for twenty years. It turned out we were not disagreeing — we were two completely different structures trying to run one household the same way. Once I could see his chart next to mine, the argument stopped being a character flaw and became a design problem we could actually solve."
Elizabeth W. — 51, Surrey, UK

Questions people ask before ordering
Is this fortune-telling?
No. Nothing here predicts events, dates, or outcomes. BaZi and the I Ching are observational systems — they describe patterns, tendencies, and timing so that you can make a better decision yourself. That distinction matters to us, and it should matter to you.
Will this tell me what to do?
It will give you a way to read yourself and your situation, and it will show you how people have handled situations like yours. It will not hand you a decision, and we would distrust anyone who did. You leave with a clearer view of the terrain. You still make the call — and you are better equipped to make it.
Is this a substitute for professional advice?
No. We are not doctors, therapists, advisors, or lawyers, and this is not a replacement for any of them. It is a framework for reading timing and your own structure, and it works best alongside the professionals who know your specific circumstances.
How is this different from other advice I've bought?
Most advice is written for everyone, which means it is written for no one. A chart is calculated for one person, from their exact birth data, in ten-year chapters. That is the difference between being handed seven steps and being shown your own sequence.
Will this make me money, or guarantee a good outcome?
No — and we would rather say so plainly than let you find out afterward. Nothing here promises income, and anything that does is selling you something else. What it does is help you see your own structure and your timing more clearly, so the decision is yours and you have made it with your eyes open. The work, the risk, and the result stay yours. That is the honest version.
Do I need to believe in astrology for this to work?
No. Plenty of our students treat the whole thing as a structured thinking tool, and it works for them. You do not have to accept any metaphysical claim to get value from a framework that forces you to examine your own patterns and timing. Skeptics are welcome; they make the best students.
Does it conflict with my religion?
No. This is a philosophical and observational tradition, not a faith. It makes no claim about God, salvation, or the afterlife, and it asks you to believe nothing on authority. Many of our students study it alongside their own religious practice.
I'm in my 50s. Will I be able to follow it?
That is exactly who this was built for. The courses assume no prior knowledge, no mathematics, and no memorization. Every Chinese term is explained in plain English the first time it appears. If you can follow a documentary, you can follow this.
Is everything in English?
Yes — all video, all annotations, all supporting material. Original Chinese terms are kept only where they carry meaning, and each one is defined in English.
Do I need to know my exact birth time?
It helps. An exact hour gives a more precise chart. If you don't know yours — many people don't — you can still complete the course and work with what you have. You will simply be reading with slightly less resolution.
How much time does it take?
Seven hours of video in total, split into short lessons. Most people work through it in twenty-minute blocks over two or three weeks, and then keep the book on the nightstand.
What if it isn't for me?
You have 30 days. If it isn't what you hoped, email us and we refund you in full. No forms, no interrogation, no questions asked.
Will I be pressured to buy more?
No. There is one optional one-on-one session you may book if you want it, and nothing else. The course is complete on its own. We would rather you finish it than buy more.
Who is this not for?
If you want someone to tell you what will happen next year, this will disappoint you. If you want a guaranteed return, this is not an investment and never will be. If you want entertainment in the style of a horoscope column, this will bore you. This is for people willing to study themselves honestly.
How do I reach you if I have a problem?
Email madarayang0515@gmail.com and a real person will answer — usually within one business day. If something goes wrong with your access, we fix it.
30-day money-back guarantee
Read the book, watch the courses, try it honestly on something you are actually facing. If it doesn't give you something you can use, ask for your money back. You have thirty days, and you never have to explain why.
Add to cart above — your access arrives within minutes.
